A recent study found that less than 30% of Canadians used all of their vacation days in 2022, a trend worsening since the pandemic. Jennifer believes this trend is worrying and is the main reason is the ‘time off tax’. 

In this interview, she describes the ‘time off tax’ as anything that creates a barrier to taking vacation time and provides advice for how to manage the guilt that often comes with taking time off from work. She also discusses the disproportionate impact of the ‘time off tax’ on women in the workforce adding to the already terrible inequities in the workplace. .
